I got a little irritated myself when I saw that the Valentine decorations hit the shelf at Target already.

For portraits it’s a little different though, you schedule your appointment, complete the session,  order your favorites and wait for the prints to arrive.  It’s a process and it take a few weeks.

So that being said don’t miss out on this opportunity for a fun Mini Valentine session January 18-20. The session fee is only $29 and you will receive a 5×7 print and a web sharing file (same pose) of your little Valentine.

We have the backdrops but are asking you to get creative with your valentine prop ideas, a favorite for boys is a lipstick kiss (moms of course) on the cheek with a cute red tie and hat, girls look cute with a valentine bear, a red dress or a a sign with a creative Valentine saying on it like be mine or I love you, I can go on and on but I’m sure you get the idea.

We will post your child’s Valentine portrait on our facebook business page and whoever receives the most “likes” will win 50 custom Valentines cards.

Stop by and visit us at 56 S Livermore Ave between 7am and 12 noon.  We will be serving mimosas, coffee, and pastries.

Back in March of 2011 Dawn Schubert Photography launched an ongoing charity project.

Here it is in a nutshell:

I photograph a close up of  you for a donation and 100% of the proceeds go directly to charity,  you will receive a web ready digital file.  I  plan on eventually (when I feel like I have photographed enough faces) printing a book of the Faces of Livermore and placing a copy of it in a time capsule.

I will choose a new charity each month We will set aside one day a month to photograph for our Faces of Livermore project. For the month of November I have chosen The Open Heart Kitchen.

OH!  We will soon be playing a slide show of the Faces of Livermore in our new store front window at 56 S Livermore across the street from Uncle Yu’s.

Ashley’s love for basketball started at an early age and she has been playing the sport since 3rd grade. This will be Ashley’s 3rd year playing Vasity basketball on her high school team.  She was chosen to be team captain for her Junior and Senior year.   She plays a guard and has been a starter the last two years.

Ashley shared some wonderful news with us last night.  She was offered a position on the woman’s basketball team at UC Santa Cruz.  She has made a verbal commitment to join the team for the 2012-2013 season.

Congratulations Ashley!  All your hard work and dedication has paid off.

In the aftermath of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, I have realized now more than ever before that we are “here today and gone tomorrow”.  Life is precious.  I had planned on launching this charity project on April 1st 2011, but after the devastating events unfolding in Japan I have been compelled to start earlier.

Here’s the project in a nutshell:

I photograph a close-up of you for a donation amount of your choice and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to charity.  At this time my charity choice would be The American Red Cross for disaster relief in Japan, my personal goal would be to reach $1000.00 by April 1st 2011.

You will receive a web ready digital file of the image.

I will then, eventually (when I feel like I have photographed enough faces) print a book of the Faces of Livermore and place a copy of it in a time capsule and our faces will not be forgotten by the future generations of Livermore.

Our first Faces of Livermore shoot will be on Sunday, March 20 2011 at 6:00 pm at  Dawn Schubert Photography studio, the address is 379 S “I” street. We welcome Faces of all ages.

This is the first image I photographed for the faces of Livermore, my husband George.  I just love his smile lines and the sparkle in his eyes.

We always encourage our senior clients to bring their favorite things.  It’s funny how people relax and pose so natually when they are doing something they love.
