The search is on for the cutest little Valentine

I know, I know most of us haven’t even put away our Christmas decorations just yet, well at least I haven’t. We just rang in the new year and no one wants to think about Valentines day.

I got a little irritated myself when I saw that the Valentine decorations hit the shelf at Target already.

For portraits it’s a little different though, you schedule your appointment, complete the session,  order your favorites and wait for the prints to arrive.  It’s a process and it take a few weeks.

So that being said don’t miss out on this opportunity for a fun Mini Valentine session January 18-20. The session fee is only $29 and you will receive a 5×7 print and a web sharing file (same pose) of your little Valentine.

We have the backdrops but are asking you to get creative with your valentine prop ideas, a favorite for boys is a lipstick kiss (moms of course) on the cheek with a cute red tie and hat, girls look cute with a valentine bear, a red dress or a a sign with a creative Valentine saying on it like be mine or I love you, I can go on and on but I’m sure you get the idea.

We will post your child’s Valentine portrait on our facebook business page and whoever receives the most “likes” will win 50 custom Valentines cards.

We need faces of all ages for our Faces of Livermore project!

Back in March of 2011 Dawn Schubert Photography launched an ongoing charity project.

Here it is in a nutshell:

I photograph a close up of  you for a donation and 100% of the proceeds go directly to charity,  you will receive a web ready digital file.  I  plan on eventually (when I feel like I have photographed enough faces) printing a book of the Faces of Livermore and placing a copy of it in a time capsule.

I will choose a new charity each month We will set aside one day a month to photograph for our Faces of Livermore project. For the month of November I have chosen The Open Heart Kitchen.

http://www.openheartkitchen.org/donate-food.php

Bring a food item to donate to the open heart kitchen  (click the link above to see what they need) and be photographed for the Faces of Livermore  project.

OH!  We will soon be playing a slide show of the Faces of Livermore in our new store front window at 56 S Livermore across the street from Uncle Yu’s.

Ashley

We had a second session with with Ashley last night, this time it was to showcase her favorite sport of basketball as well as her gorgeousness (is that a word?) just look at those eyes, perfect skin, and lips :) .

Ashley’s love for basketball started at an early age and she has been playing the sport since 3rd grade. This will be Ashley’s 3rd year playing Vasity basketball on her high school team.  She was chosen to be team captain for her Junior and Senior year.   She plays a guard and has been a starter the last two years.

Ashley shared some wonderful news with us last night.  She was offered a position on the woman’s basketball team at UC Santa Cruz.  She has made a verbal commitment to join the team for the 2012-2013 season.

Congratulations Ashley!  All your hard work and dedication has paid off.

Lauren in the City

I have been terribly neglecting my blog lately and plan on doing better posting a little everyday showcasing recent clients. I am not the most interesting writer but I do love to share images I have created of  beautiful people.

Last week we  had the pleasure of photographing Lauren, Class of 2012.  Lauren has been dating my oldest son and assistant for a year now.  She is such a beautiful sweet girl and has a bright future ahead of her.  I love the fact that she plays a princess at little kids parties, too cute!

For Lauren’s session we decided to head to San Francisco for an urban type shoot.  Our first stop was China town, I enjoy the color and textures all around and thought they would photograph well.  I’m pretty sure most of the people crowding the streets thought Lauren was a celebrity, many of them were photographing and recording our session, it was pretty funny.  Our next stop was a cool alley that was lit perfectly, we then walked about 4 blocks to a colorful graffiti wall, then off the the Golden Gate Bridge.  Lauren was a trooper braving the cold foggy weather in the city. We had a great session and I can’t wait for Lauren and her family to see all the images.

Beautiful Kessler

High School senior sessions don’t have to be boring they can be fun and exciting like Kessler’s.

Dawn Schubert Photography focuses on the unique experience for each individual.  We specialize in artistic, vibrant, storytelling portraits that showcases the personality of each individual.  Kessler is Class of 2012, in addition to her regular session we wanted to do a high fashion type session.  She mentioned she had a  green and black corset she wore  during one of her dance routines, this gave us the inspiration for a high fashion fairy type session.  Eddie, Kessler’s mom, made the black tulle skirt and Tara the makeup artist and stylist found the perfect long blue skirt at a second hand store. We found the perfect location and everything came together to produce some amazing images of Kessler to be cherished for years to come.

I’m including a few images from Kessler’s original session, these were shot on two different days.

Livermore hosts stage 4 of the AMGEN tour of California

We had the honor of  observing Stage 4 of the AMGEN tour of California in Downtown Livermore this morning.  what an exciting cycling road race featuring elite professional teams and athletes from around the world.

Jerry

It was so nice to see the Sillivan family again.  We shot Thalia’s (Jerry’s sister) senior portraits last year and we we’re so excited that she was home from college and was avaialable to come with Jerry to pose for a portrait with him.  Jerry was a lot of fun to work with and so was his dog Thore.  Jerry loved his portraits and said they were “sick”.  That’s a good thing right?

Here’s a few of my favorites from his session:

Kristina

Yesterday afternoon we had the pleasure of photographing Kristina.  Kristina scheduled her session months ago but had to reschedule a few times due to rain.  We were so excited to see blue skies for her session yesterday.  Luckily the rain didn’t show up until several hours after her session.  Kristina was a joy to work with and has a smile that will brighten anyone’s day.  Georgie, my assistant, suggested a beautiful new  location.  Here’s a sneak peek~
